Patricia Jane Clements

Patricia Jane Clements (Janie), 79, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026. She was born on April 5, 1947, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to the late Elmer Noel and Margorie Mae Stalnaker. Janie proudly graduated from Monterey High School, in Lubbock, Texas, class of 1965. She went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in 1968. In 1966, she married the love of her life, a young man by the name of Cliff Clements. They spent the next 60 years building a beautiful life together filled with love and laughter. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, The Baytown Pilot Club and the sorority Beta Sigma Phi of Sugar Land

Janie had a passion for teaching young children. She made her career as a preschool director, where she worked for many years in several churches, some of which included Memorial Baptist Church, Grace United Methodist Church, and First Methodist Church Sugar Land. She was also involved with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, where she spent many hours doing research and presentations. Janie would assist preschools with obtaining their accreditation. She volunteered with the Appalachian Service Project and served on a mission trip to Ecuador. She worked with The United Way of Baytown and Chambers County where she was involved with the planning of a new preschool. Janie also served as a volunteer at Love, INC in Baytown.

Janie pursued many interests, some of which include reading, gardening and going to the beach. Above all her greatest joy in life came from the precious time spent with her family.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Kenneth Noel Stalnaker; and her sister Nancy Ann Stalnaker. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her beloved husband Cliff; her children Tracy Clements, and Melanie Mizeur and husband Jeff; her grandchildren Schuyler and Avery Flake, and Reid and Elliot Mizeur; her sisters Barbara Cherry and husband Mike, Suzi Hyman, and Judy Yandell and husband Lonnie; her numerous nieces and nephews; and her many cousins; along with a host of other loving family and friends.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at The Waterford and Heritage Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Janie.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to The National Association for the Education of Young Children (naeyc.org) or Baytown Habitat for Humanity (baytownhabitat.org)

Visitation will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on September 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration Of Life will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on September 19, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
