Patti Elaine Murphy-Miller, age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family October 22nd, 2021. She was born August 17th, 1955 in Liberty Texas to T.C. and Lois Murphy. She married her friend and love J.D. Miller in 1998 in Baytown Texas.
Patti was known as a hard-working headstrong woman by those who knew her best. Her children and grandchildren would all have stories of countless chores and tasks like hours of endless weeding the many flower beds, cleaning up the tin cans from the burn pile and how you never EVER left a dirty dish in her clean sink... Which always made me ponder, but if there's a dirty dish in there, then its not clean anymore right? She believed in keeping kids busy and you will keep them out of trouble. It worked... for some, for others... not so much.
Patti loved animals. Even as a child she was known to bring home the mangiest, dirtiest dogs and cats to care for. If she could have fed and bathes and cared for every flea infested stray in the state of Texas, I think she would have. Her heart was just that big. Growing up we definitely had the most dogs in the neighborhood and the most kids since she would typically set out sandwiches on the picnic table for the whole neighborhood to enjoy.
Patti just simply had the heart to take care of things. Her love of plants was no different. Her yard was always surrounded by beautiful flower beds that she loved to tend to and her home was filled with beautiful various ivies galore. She loved antiques and antique shopping, she loved music but mostly... she loved her family.
Patti was proceeded in death by her parents, T.C. and Lois Murphy. She is survived by her husband J.D. Miller; her siblings Martha Harris, Betty & James McCoullough, and Beverly & Charles Torrance; as well as her honorary sister Faye Stone; children Kimberly Varner, Melissa Farmer, Michelle Farmer, Amanda Varner, John Matthew Farmer and Cherilyn Craig; her grandchildren Eddie Varner, Elaine Gilbert, Brice Thomas, Briannah Farmer, Megan Lackey, Raven Farmer, Lucky Emerson. Kailey Farmer, Meadeau Flores and Cadyn Farmer; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
