Paul Taylor Ffrench

Paul Taylor Ffrench, 57 of Baytown, TX went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2015, after a heroic battle with cancer. Paul was born on October 19, 1957 in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela to Larry and Grace Ffrench. Larry was a Chemical Engineer working for Gulf Oil as an expat. Grace was a Music Teacher and pianist, on contract with Socony Mobile to teach in the Gulf Oil Community School. Paul was the last of four children.

The family moved to Baytown in 1963 when Paul was five. He started school at Miss Collie’s Day school, then attended Bowie Elementary, Cedar Bayou Junior High and to Sterling High School where he was in choir, on the swim team, and played tennis. He went on to study at Texas A&M majoring in Electrical Engineering and worked in the Oil and Gas Industry as an Instrument and Electrical Designer.

Paul was a Board Member for five years with The Jerusalem Temple Foundation. He was known for his strong voice and passion in presenting Creationism versus Evolution as an active Christian. Paul was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Baytown.

Paul’s hobbies were running triathlons, swimming, biking (including building bikes), genealogy, computers and applied electronics, science fiction movies, avid fan of Star Trek and Big Foot, antique cars, and loved his dogs (even having rescued his last dog). He was a music lover stemming from his Mother and Grandmothers.

Paul is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Arthur René Ffrench; mother, Grace Isabel Bivins Ffrench; and wife, Tracey Sartwell Ffrench.

Paul is survived by, Paul’s girlfriend and Best Friend of eight years, Cyndy Elliot; brother, L. René Ffrench and wife Anne Bakker Ffrench; sisters, Elna Ffrench Ritter and Lydia Ffrench Argo and husband Michael; nephews, Aaron, Philip, Matthew, and Jonathan; niece, Amber; and numerous grand nieces and nephew.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery, 3900 BF Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, TX 77471.
