Peggy L. Anderson, 90, of Baytown, Texas was born December 31, 1928 in Magnolia, Texas to Nolan James and Emma Christine Campbell, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2019.

Mrs. Anderson or (“Nannie Peggy”) grew up in a house built by her own family in the 1890s. The house was complete with a dogtrot, a deep water well and an outhouse. She was the valedictorian of Groveton High School when she graduated in 1946.

Peggy Loraine Campbell married Wilmer B Anderson, owner of Trinity Leather Shop, on September 27, 1947 in Trinity, Texas. They moved to Baytown in 1955 and founded Anderson Shoe & Saddle.

She was involved in Pilot Club, Baytown Youth Fair and was the founder of the Baytown Youth Fair Prince and Princess pageant.

Nannie Peggy’s home was always open to family, friends and animals for celebrations and Sunday dinners. Sundays at the bay were a tradition for many. When asked, family contributed words that reminded us of Nannie Peggy. Some of these things may be familiar to you.

It was truly a pleasure to have cared for her while at Rollingbrook Rehab, and she will be greatly missed! I can imagine her now holding up her fingers to signal she is "A OK", because now she is resting in the arms of our Lord and Saviour! May God strengthen and comfort you daughters, you ladies did an excellent job caring for her day in a day out, Ms Anderson was blessed to have you, just as each of you were truly blessed to have her! Mrs. Anderson was a special lady. We became acquainted with her, in recent years. She was always ready with an extended hand and a kiss on the cheek. She was truly a treasure.
