

Phyllis Marilyn Clemmer Harper went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2013. She lived 83 full and wonderful years. She was a devoted and much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a great friend to all who had the good fortune to know her.
Phyllis was born March 28, 1930 in Eastland County TX to Carl Brock and Jewell Ethel (Weekes) Clemmer. She attended and graduated from Rice University. She also attended and graduated from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, TX. She was a trail-blazer in her profession, becoming one of the first women to practice corporate law.
She is survived by her son Douglas Harper, her son Brian Harper and his wife Anne; daughter Marilyn Kinsel; and her sister Arritta Bruton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23, 2013 form 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown. A memorial service will follow.
Phyllis has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. This world is a better place because she lived. Now she has gone to heaven and we are comforted to know that she now sings with the angels.
