

Quinton E. “Gene” Whitehead, 57 of Navasota, TX, born August 15, 1954, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 with his family and loved ones with him. He graduated from Mc Arthur Senior High School in 1972 in Houston, TX then Stephen F. Austin with a BBA – Magna Cum Laude in 1978. He worked for American Steel Building, then on to Mid West Steel Building and founded his own company, Pro-Bilt Steel Building in Houston, TX in 1992. Then in 2000, he moved to Navasota continuing business then he went home to be with the Lord. He was of Christian Faith. His interest outside of business, family and Pe Paw’s farm was NASCAR and Auto Racing. He was a member of Farm and Ranch Club which supports continuing education.
He was preceded in death by his father, Quinton Whitehead in 1957 at the age of 38; step-father, Bills Phipps in 1990.
He is survived by his mother, Edres Phipps; brother, J.D. Whitehead and wife Anita of Montalba, TX; family members, Richard Bailey and wife Carolyn of Highlands, TX, Ernest Ray Bailey and wife Darlene of Garland, TX; nieces, Jacque Batton of Montalba, TX, and Brandi Mc Enturff of Palestine, TX; special cousin, Brandon Batton; aunt, Dixie Cook of Lufkin, TX; cousins, Linda Fischer, Darla Shirley and David Whitton of Houston, TX, Susan Stanlan of Cedar Creek, TX ; Diane Rogers of California; long time special friend, Lana Schaffer and her children and grandchildren; and also other extended family members and a host of many very special friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Russ Riddings, John Graham, Charlie O'Hara, John Ketabe, Charlie Braunagel, Steve Ernest, Wayne Franklin and Travis Higginbotham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Teague, Clint Coburn, Tony Skinner, NASCAR gang from Turn 3.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Cancer Society or Charity of Colorectical Cancer Society Choice.
