Ralph Franklin Oler, Sr. passed away on August 13th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, at age 75. A celebration of life will be held at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas on August 20th. Visitation will begin at 10am with the service to follow at 11am.
Born on February 5th, 1951 in McAllen, Texas, Ralph was the first child of the late Theodore Sr. and Nelva Oler. He graduated high school in 1970 in San Antonio, Texas, where his parents had relocated with Ralph and his siblings; Ruth and the late Theodore Jr. In 1971, Ralph moved to Baytown, Texas and spent the remainder of his years there, building successful businesses and a community of friends whom he regarded as family.
He was widely known for his endless jokes, his giving spirit, and never slowing down or sitting still. Ralph felt that there was always work to be done and fun to be had because everything in this life was “just on loan”.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Sr. and Nelva, and his brother Theodore Jr.
Ralph is survived by his wife, JoAnn Oler; his son Ralph Oler, Jr., and wife Samantha, and their children, Jacob, Maegan, and Morgan; his son Ryan Oler and his children, Victoria, Kaitlyn, and Jamison; his stepson Christopher Davis and wife Maritza; his stepson Justin Davis and son Dylan; and his sister Ruth Johnston-Bennett and nephew Rocky Johnston.
The family would also like to recognize the following people as very dear friends of Ralph’s; Kevin, Susan, and Adrianna Garrett, Michael Chatham, and Kristi Wheat.
Pallbearers are Jacob Oler, Angel Banda, Daniel Banda, Kevin Garrett, Anthony Alvarado, and Joey Oliver. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Chatham, Gene Anderson, Freddy Collins, and Kristi Wheat.
