

Raycle Charles “R.C.” Priest, beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2005. Mr. Priest was born January 20, 1915, in Roganville, Texas, to Katie Blanche and Charlie S. Priest. He was preceded in death by his wife Elisabeth, his son Charles M. Priest, his step-daughter Elisabeth “Tizzie” Pepper, and his brothers Cecil and Buck.
Mr. Priest is survived by his daughter Kathryn Priest of Houston; his sisters Helen Honea of Cypress and Jody Storm and husband Roy Storm of Dunwoody, Ga.; his step-son and wife Walker and Linda Stewart of Galveston; his step-daughter and husband Susan and Dennis Kusenberger of Fredericksburg, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren.
A 25-year retiree of Exxon, Mr. Priest was the former owner of the Bayway Auto Supply. He was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Baytown and a member of many years of the Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge. Formerly an amateur fisherman and pilot, Mr. Priest enjoyed making jewelry for his family and others and was an avid golfer in his later years.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dottie Dumas officiating. Masonic services will also be held at the funeral home and burial will follow at Cedar Bayou Masonic Cemetery.
Masons will serve as pallbearers.
