

Raymond Barrow, 88, of Baytown, TX was born January 3, 1917 in Dayton and passed away Monday, October 17, 2005 in a Pasadena hospital. He was valedictorian of the 1934 class of Dayton High School and was a member of 2nd Baptist Church in Baytown and the Dayton Masonic Lodge. He was a rice farmer for 25 years before starting Barrow Oil Company.
Hid family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Pokluda, Lamar Turner, Ronnie Laborde, Tom Moore, Lanny Griffith, and Joe Moore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Barrow, sisters, Opal Milliken and Oveta Troxell, and brothers, Olen Barrow and Doug Barrow. He is survived by his son, Robert Barrow of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Lamar Turner of Baytown; sister, Margie Davis of Baytown; grandchildren, Randi Derrett, Jordan Barrow, and Michael Pokluda; and a great grandson, Parker Pokluda.

He was a resident of the Swan Manor Assisted Living Facility for the last three years. His family would like to extend a special “thank you” to their staff for the care given Raymond.
