i dearly miss brother martin he was sunshine in the rain and i send all my condolinces out to his family and friends

Suzanne, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this time of your dad's homegoing.  I have many wonderful memories of times spent at your house on Grantham street.  I particularly remember sitting at the table eating creamed tuna on toast with your dad. I had never eaten it before and thought it was the best dish, and I still make it to this day.  I also remember how great your dad was to me when I ran over your mom's car.  He was a sweet, kind and gentle man.  I know he has many rewards awaiting him in Heaven.  May God comfort your heart in the days to come with such cherished thoughts.  Love always, Carla

I had gotten out of touch with Raymond, and most of the other men I admired and respected growing up in the Baytown-area churches of Christ.  Sometimes when we went fishing, Raymond would trust me with his private thoughts, which were always about his care and concern for his daughters and for Onella, and later for his grandchildren.  (And sometimes he would tell me stories about being in the Navy; he was privately proud of that service.)  He was, a Christian gentleman to the fullest measure.  My life is fuller and more complete for having met him, and enjoyed his friendship.

I will always be thankful to have attended church services with Mr. Martin.  I love his passion of music and singing.  He and Onela have been an encouraging example of faithful christians as long as I have known them.  I will never forget him and his service to the church.

Marlene, I am thinking of you and your family.  I know fathers are such special people and you were all blessed by having your father in your life.  May you be comforted by his life on earth and now his joy in heaven.  With love to all of you, Julie

Anytime I think of your Dad he is smiling.  He had the sweetest smile and he loved his wife and his girls.  He was a gentle man in the truest form of the word.  Now he is where we all want to go someday and I am sure he is smiling.  You all are in my thoughts and prayers. My love to you all.
