

Reba C. Ginzel, 86, passed away on August 1, 2014, in Baytown, TX. She was born in Palmer, TX on October 19, 1927, to Ernest and Norma Cox. She lived there until her teens when her family moved to Houston. She was an officer on the drill team before graduating high school. She married and moved to Baytown where she had two boys, Gordon and Garland, and taught girls gymnastics at the Baytown YMCA while she was the Ladies Health Club Director. She helped run the family jewelry business for many years before becoming store manager and inventory manager for a multiple store chain of specialty jewelry stores. After retirement she belonged to the Grandmothers Club, was a member of the Eastern Star and was active in the East Side Church of Christ for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Norma Cox; two brothers, Charles and Clynn; and son, Garland.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Genie Ginzel of Baytown, TX; grandchildren, Glen and Leslie of Humble, TX, Elizabeth and Gordon Stevens of Ft. Worth, TX; sister, Norma Giles of Griffin, Georgia and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Sobotik, Tommy Meadows, Scott Sheley, Richard Giles, Dennis Price, and Rick Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Murff and Bill Washburn.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Earthman Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 10:00am at Earthman Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, TX.
