

Rev. William Franklin McCorkle, age 89, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on October 3rd, 2011, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was preceded in death by his son, parents, brother and sister. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Aneice McCorkle; his daughter, Amonna Sue Goodwin, & her husband, John; his 3 granddaughters, Karen Goodwin, Cherisse Goodwin, and Laneice Brooker & husband, Brandon; his nieces, Donna Cates, Carol Whisenhunt, Linda Armstrong, Charlene Miller and their families, and a multitude of cousins, friends and their families. He also has a great legacy of spiritual children in Africa and around the world.
Loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Franklin never met a stranger and loved to laugh. Prankster, linguist, teacher, preacher, and pioneer missionary (for 31 years) to Ghana, West Africa, horticulturalist, cook & baker are just a few of his many titles and roles he held throughout his life. Many people will remember him in later years as the ""Bread Man"" - a fitting title for the man who shared homemade bread and the ""Bread of Life"" with all he met.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct 6th, 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct 7th, 1 pm. Both services will be at Navarre Funeral Home 2444 Rollingbrook Drive Baytown, TX. 77521. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery 8624 Garth RD Baytown, TX. 77521.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to LifeCare Ministries for the construction of a new Administration Building for the Northern Ghana Bible College where he taught for 25 years and was Principal for 18 years.
