Robert Alan Carter

Robert Alan Carter, age 64, passed away September 5, 2026. He was born on August 12, 1962, in Baytown, TX, to Mary Lou (Williams) Carter and Dr. Robert Louis Carter. He grew up alongside his sisters, Luanne (Angel) Carter and Nancy Carter. After attending Lee College, Robert spent 38 years working in construction before starting his own company, Carter Construction LLC. He was incredibly proud of the business he built and the legacy he and his wife created together.

On August 6,1994, Robert married the love of his life, Wanda (Caples) Carter. They shared 32 years of marriage after first meeting while working together. From the beginning, Robert embraced Wanda’s two daughters, Christy and Melissa, and loved them as his own. Together, Robert and Wanda later welcomed two more daughters, Macy Lou and Katelin. His girls meant everything to him, and he always made sure they were loved and taken care of.

Being a dad was one of Robert’s greatest joys in life. His family was always his greatest accomplishment, and nothing made him prouder than watching his daughters and grandchildren grow.

Robert started his own company in 2018 with his wife, Wanda. They both spent many long nights building an empire which would be his legacy to his family. Robert loved and cherished all his employees.

Robert found happiness in the simple things. He loved being outdoors. Some of his favorite memories were fishing on the boat with his father and nephew, Chance Angel. He was a lifelong Texas Longhorns fan and loved traveling to Austin to attend football games with his daughter, Macy Lou. At home, he loved his morning walks with his golden retriever, Brady Max, who was never far from his side.

But perhaps what people will remember most about Robert was the way he treated others. He had a big heart, never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a hand. He was the kind of person who would drop what he was doing to help someone else. His generosity humor, hard work, and genuine love for the people around him left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Though his family will carry the heartbreak of losing him, they will also carry the countless memories he gave them: the fishing trips, Longhorn games, morning walks, family gatherings, and all the ordinary moments that became special simply because he was there.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda; his four daughters, Christy Fowler and husband Paul, Melissa Sims, Macy Lou Carter, and Katelin Carter; and his five grandchildren, Abby, Shelby, Jackson, Connor, and Anderson, who meant the world to him.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert’s memory to Helping Paws of Chambers County, Our Pet Project, PetSet, Baytown Junior Forum Goodfellows, KSBJ, Deck My Room, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or any other charity you feel compelled to donate to.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Carter Construction, 4195 Kilgore Pkwy., in Baytown, Texas 77523.
