

Steven was born in Liberty, Texas on February 25, 1945, to Arthur B. and Myrtle Oates.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Arthur Lee Oates, sister Doris Koenig, mother-in-law Nelle Daniel.
Survived by his wife Phyllis Oates, daughter Stephanie and husband Paul Perry, brother James and wife Jackie Oates.
Grandkids: Robert Dellinger, Devin Dellinger, Jordan Dellinger, Jacob Perry, and Justin Nixon
Great Grand Kids: Shay Dellinger, Jace Dellinger, and Ily Boson.
Numerous cousins, nephews and nieces
At the age of 12 the family moved to Baytown, Texas. After his time in the service, he returned home and started dating Phyllis. They married on July 4, 1968, and had one precious daughter, Stephanie, on April 22, 1974.
Steven retired from the City of Pasadena water dept in 1993 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, loved to dance, fish, and watch all types of western shows. He loved spending time with his best friends of over 50 Years, Elwood and Naomi Holmes. Also, a big fan of the Houston Astros and the Texans.
He was a family man, loved his wife, daughter and Grandkids. Steven had a caring soul, and a superhero in his families eyes.
He will always be missed...
