Roger McNeill

Roger McNeill, 66, of Pinehurst, formerly Baytown, was born January 10, 1943 in Aransas Pass and passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in a Houston hospital. He was raised in the Cedar Bayou Baptist Church where he was a deacon and was a 1961 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran and member of the IBEW Local 527 and was a Plant Supervisor at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Opal McNeill and is survived by his wife, Sylvia McNeill of Pinehurst; sons, Kenny McNeill of Kingsland and Bryan McNeill of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Owen Cox of Houston; sisters and brother-in-law, Sue Niederhofer of Conroe and Sandra and John Carter of Hamilton, NY; grandchildren, Trent, Erin, Courtney and Evan McNeill and Christoffer and Callie Cox; and numerous other family members and friends.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander Dr., Baytown, TX 77520 with Rev. Warren Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny McNeill, Bryan McNeill, Owen Cox, Jason Williams, Charlie Dyer, Randy Trenary, Trent McNeill and Evan McNeill.
