

Ronald J. Carey, 62, wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, of Baytown was born August 26, 1945 in Cisco and passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in a Houston hospital. He loved horses, hunting, and fishing and was an active member of the Baytown community, having coached youth sports. He retired from ExxonMobil in 2001 with 32 years of service and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, National Cutting Horse Association, and a very active member of Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church, where he served on the Finance Committee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lum and Mildred Carey; brother, Winford Carey; and sisters, Vernelle Lindley and Patsy Terry. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Carey, son, Jay Carey, and daughter and son-in-law, M’Lissa and Rick Johnson, all of Baytown; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Bryan and Terri Trahan of Alvin; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Brenda and Mark Brevell of Groves; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Wanda Carey and Edwin and Joyce Carey, all of Baytown and Gayle and Alva Carey of Breckinridge; sister and brother-in-law, Dyann and Joe Conway of Baytown; grandchildren, Jaymie Carey, Emily, Sammy, and Tyler Johnson, Blayne and Sarah Trahan, and Bailey and Britney Brevell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Trahan, Blayne Trahan, Mark Brevell, Rick Johnson, Tyler Johnson, and Greg Terry, M.D.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Lyles officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
