Roy Darrell Calma, surrounded by family, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 18th, 2019. He was born on January 19th, 1940 in Goose Creek (Baytown), Texas to Victor and Virgie Calma. Roy was a 1958 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown. He retired from Exxon after 29 years of service at 55 years of age. He was a founding member of the Sjolander Road Fellowship. He was the #1 fan of both the Robert E. Lee Football team and the Barbers Hill Girl’s Basketball team.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betsy Moran Calma, his three children and their spouses, Royette and Todd Crawley, Kirk and Patti Calma, and Tish and Roy Adams. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley and
Shannon Talbott, Austin Crawley and Nikki Cornett, Allyson and Jesse Green, Caleb Calma Adams, Samantha Calma, and Marisa Calma. His great-grandchildren Gia Montalto, Karleigh Pryor and Brooke Talbott. He is also survived by his sisters and brother: Shirley Chambers, brother and best friend Leonard Calma and his wife Jerry, Joan and John D. Fitzgerald and his brother-in-law Allen Dunn and his wife, Norine, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, other family members and dear friends.
The family will receive friends at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. A visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice.
