

Roy Homer ""Sonny"" Vann, Sr., 80, of Baytown, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 in Baytown. He was born August 30, 1936 in Bishopville, Texas to his late parents, Homer Bradford Vann and Adaline Gladys Smithers Vann.
Mr. Vann had lived in the Baytown area most of his life and was self-employed in the construction business. His favorite hobbies were writing, traveling, riding motorcycles and picking on people he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Gevan Dean Vann and Ray Allen Vann; sister, Joann Vann Estes and a nephew, Kirkwood Estes.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Sheila Vann; sons, Roy H. ""Sonny"" Vann, Jr. and his wife, Nina and George Vann; granddaughter, Sydnie Butaud; sisters, Robbie Nell Rambo and Ethel Geneva ""Cricket"" Priebe and nieces and nephews, Roxanna, Philip, Becky and Kelly Estes and Roger, Katherine, Crystal and Damon Rambo.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Navarre Funeral Home. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the funeral home with Dr. Jefferson Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mario Castillo, Keith Cummings, Kevin Black, Lynne Jones, Robby Castillo, Deanne Cummings, Harry Robinette and Dwaine Pennison. Honorary pallbearers will be George Vann, Shirrell Thorne and Stephanie Crawford.
