

Ruth Marion Foster, 92 went to be with the lord on January 5, 2017. Ruth was born on January 14, 1924 in Boston Massachusetts. Ruth lived there until she married the love of her life Weaver Foster Jr. on September 17, 1955 and then moved to Houston Texas in 1956. They moved to Baytown Texas in 1971 where she lived out the rest of her life. She was a devoted wife and mother of 2 children. Ruth did a lot of volunteer work with the Boy and Girl Scouts, West Baytown Civic Association, National Night Out, The DARE Program, Crime Stoppers, and worked on the 4th of July and Christmas Parades. Ruth was also a member of the VFW Women Auxiliary Post 912 where she joined in 1988. She was also a member of the Baytown Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association since 1995. Ruth worked for the Baytown Sun for 11 years where she was the Head Proof Reader for 6 years before retiring in 1989. Ruth was very famous by different organizations in Baytown for her Banana Pudding (which was endorsed by Dan Pastorini).
Ruth is survived by her husband of 61 years, Weaver (Buddy) Foster Jr.; her son, Weaver Foster III and wife Toni; her daughter Marion Abling and husband Jeff; grandson, Nicholas White; great-granddaughter, Izabella Zenner; sister-in-law, Pauline Honeycutt; and brother-in-law, Joe Foster. Ruth has numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM, both at Earthman Funeral Home 3919 Garth Road Baytown, Texas at Earthman Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas.
