Sandra was born on September 1, 1960, in Sistersville, West Virginia, to Robert Gorrell and Sarah Whatley. She graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1978 and later earned an associate’s degree from Lee College.
Sandy spent many years working as an executive assistant at Jorgensen Steel before stepping away from her career to focus on raising her family—a role she cherished above all. Over the years, she also served as a preschool teacher, church secretary, and a dedicated employee of Goose Creek CISD, where she worked until her retirement in 2021.
Sandra will be remembered most for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the deep love she had for her grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Gigi.” She found joy in quilting, working in her garden, lunch dates with friends, and spending time with her family. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Adcock; her father, Robert Gorrell; mother-in-law, Joy Greenawalt; father-in-law, Aubrey Merl Adcock, sister-in-law, Carla Adcock; and nephew, Joshua Roberts.
She is survived by her stepmother-in-law, Joyce Gorrell; daughters, Kasi Bevel (Ryan) and Amy Conner (Bubba); and her cherished grandchildren: Cody, Kollyn, and Austin Bevel, and Noah Conner.
