Choosing one memory to share is difficult because my life is embedded with them. Spending the weekends at grandma and grandpas was one of my favorite things growing up. We got to stay up late, bother uncle Jesse, and grandma would always cook for me and my sister. I used to purposely not pack any pajamas so she could lend me one of her long nightgowns. I felt so grown-up in them. I’d love to hear her take my side when my mom would chastise me. (Though if my mom wasn’t around she’d threaten to tell her about my behavior. “Vas a ver, le voy a decir a tu mama cuando venga.” Random but I always remember her having a whole jalapeño with almost every meal. Spiciness who? She was always a strict and demure woman. Very set in her ways. Scandalized by anything vulgar which made situations all the funnier. Te amo abuelita, peace is yours now. Rest easy.

P.S I hope you can read English in the afterlife. Or maybe Mama Lupe can translate. If not Ill translate someday.
