Sheryl Jean Lee Doyle

Sheryl Jean Lee Doyle, 76, of Baytown, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Mont Belvieu Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Mont Belvieu, Texas after a long illness. She was born in Gilmer, Texas on December 4, 1945. Her parents were Arthur Bernon Lee and Geraldine Free Lee. She was married to husband James Charles (JC) Doyle for 45 years, and was a business teacher for many years. She retired as an administrative assistant at San Jacinto Hospital in Baytown. She had a passion for her family, pets, and travel.

Sheryl would first want to be known as a Christian and a mother. She was fiercely loyal to her faith, family, and friends, and had an adventurous spirit. She often told stories of her youth, usually involving her siblings and cousins, and later high school friends, which were always hilarious and had a danger factor.

After graduating from Barbers Hill High School in 1964, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Houston in 1976. She and her daughter then joined JC, who was working in the Canary Islands. Shortly after arriving, JC was reassigned to the Suez and Sheryl had the opportunity to start her teaching career in Alexandria, Egypt. She went on to teach in Anaco, Venezuela on their next assignment, and later in Crosby, TX, where they lived for many years before moving to Baytown. While living overseas, she traveled extensively throughout the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Europe, and later enjoyed traveling with family and friends to the Caribbean, Australia, the Amazon, and other destinations.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Steve Ferguson, stepdaughter and husband, Darla and Preston Roberts, brother, Mike Lee, sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Mark Dolecki, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a great grandson.

A Visitation and Remembrance will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas.
