Shirley Mae Myers passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, April 8, 2023 after a two year battle with cancer. She was born October 19, 1936 to William "Buck" Cummings and Emma Ruth Cummings in DeLeon, Texas, Erath County.
She worked for Goose Creek Independent School District for thirty years as a food service manager. She loved to work in her garden, bird watching, rockhounding, vacationing, and her early morning coffee, and most importantly spending time with her family. She was a very loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She was a woman of strength and courage, beauty, grace and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. To know her was to love her. If you ever got the chance to be in her presence... consider yourself blessed. Everything she did, she did it with love and the Lord in mind, but if you were wrong she would be the first to let you know. Just ask her son Randy. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. She always gave honest advice, wisdom, and never failed to say a prayer.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents William "Buck" Cummings and Emma Ruth Cummings; former husband and close friend Bill Myers; sisters Bonnie Kidd and Ally Fisher; brothers Bill Cummings and John Cummings; daughter Teresa Franklin; son in law Dan Irby; and great granddaughter Zoe Garcia. She is survived by her step son Ronald Lee Myers; daughter Brenda Irby of Old River-Winfree; son Randy and wife Danah Myers of Old River Winfree; grand kids Elaine Bransford and husband Alex, Melissa Franklin and spouse Dan Eaton, Lori McCoy and husband Brian, Kagan Myers, Kailey Myers and Logan Sherman of Hankamer, Texas, Taylor Irby and wife Kelly of Washington, David Irby and wife Brandy, Brandon Irby and wife Dixie, great-grandchildren Alena McCoy, Eric Irby, Abby Irby, Daphne Garcia, Lennon McCoy, Lucas Eaton, Haven Bransford, Colbie Richardson, Tate Sherman and Ursula Irby, along with numerous nieces and nephews and her sweet best friend Blanche Arnold.

Please join us for visitation Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home 3919 Garth Rd. Baytown, Texas 77521. A service will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery 8624 Garth Rd. Baytown, Texas 77521.
