Stanley Schaffer

Mr. Schaffer was born on March 8, 1924, in Galveston, Texas, the 4th child of Henry F. Schaffer, and Frances Ammonette Schaffer. He grew up in Baytown, Texas, and became an owner of Schaffer Brothers Concrete Products, located on West Main Street, in Pelly, Texas. In 1965, he moved his family to Houston, Texas, and earned his living working for the Charlie Thomas Automobile Dealerships of Houston, as a Ford Fleet Truck Salesman. He earned many local and national awards in this position, and at one time, his picture appeared in Newsweek Magazine accompanied by an article in recognition of his award -winning performance. In 1991, Mr. Schaffer was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Nora Lee Hales Schaffer. They were long-time members of Christ Lutheran Church of Northshore.

He is survived by two children, Anita, and husband Martin Herzog, of La Grange, Texas; Phillip, and wife Susan, of Old River, Texas. He is also survived by four grand-children: Scott Jordan, and wife Sascha, of Dripping Springs, Texas; Jill Krizan, and husband Craig of the Woodlands, Texas; Lisa Rogers, and husband, Gregg, of Baytown, Texas, and Phillip Schaffer, Jr. of Kingwood, Texas. In addition, he is survived by four great-grandchildren: Adam and Amber Krizan, and Zach and Abi Rogers.

Viewing will take place at Navarre Funeral Home on Sunday, August 5, 2007, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Son-in-law Martin Herzog will conduct the Funeral Service in the Navarre Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 6, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at 1:00 PM in County Line Cemetery, located near Cut 'n' Shoot, Texas following the funeral service.

Pallbearers are: Scott Jordan, Craig Krizan, Adam Krizan, Gregg Rogers, Zach Rogers, and Phillip Schaffer, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Brazos Valley Hospice. Donations may be sent to 302 East Blue Bell Road, Brenham, Texas, 77833, or given to any family member.
