Stella C. Powell

Stella C. Powell, 93, of Baytown, TX passed away peacefully in a local nursing home on November 19, 2008. She was born December 8, 1914 in New Waverly, TX to Matthew and Katherine Parick and grew up in Crosby, TX before making Baytown her home. She was a waitress for many years in local restaurants. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, sewing, crocheting, her pets and working in her yard. Stella was of the Catholic faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by sister-in-law, Geneva Parick of Dayton, TX; nieces, Katherine Berzas of Baton Rouge, LA, Cindy Ray of Alvin, TX and Monica Jarosh of Kemp, TX; and nephews, Richard Ulkie of Alvin, TX, Chris Evard of Baytown, TX and Terry Evard, Brent Evard and Mike Patyk, all of Houston, TX.

Graveside services will be Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the kindness and love shown to Stella by the residents and staff at Allenbrook Healthcare Center of Baytown and the staff of Regency Hospice for caring for Stella in her last days. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
