Our precious mother, Sylvia Maxine Guillote Dreyer, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She purposed her life towards others: most importantly, her husband, children and grandchildren, leaving a legacy of unconditional love and devotion for family and friends.
Sylvia was born on May 30, 1930, to Walter (Tot) Guillote and Alice Smith in Goose Creek, Texas. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1948 and married Joe R. Dreyer, Jr. September 21, 1962.
Sylvia is predeceased by her parents Walter and Alice Guillote; and her son Charles W. Coleman. She is survived by and continues to be loved by her husband of 60 years Joe R. Dreyer, Jr.; daughters Debbie Hood and husband Gary, and Alicia Guillote; her grandchildren Serena Garza, Laura Lofton and husband James, Skyla Patterson and husband Nick, Kevin Coleman, Ali Manalansan and husband Justin, Austin Almanza, and Aaron Almanza; her great-grandchildren Kellis Lofton, Sadie Patterson, and Scarlett Patterson.
She will be remembered for the love of her family and her love of music, which is reflected in all her children and grandchildren. Seeing God's world through extensive travel was a highlight of her life with Joe and many friends. Sylvia loved to play cards and 42 weekly with family and friends. Her Christian walk defined her. Church choir, handbells, and her beloved Sunday School class were an important part of her life, and she even took tap dancing lessons at age 81.
The family would especially like to recognize Sylvia's kind and loving caregivers, Lucinda, Yvonne, and Prisca: Sylvia's angels.
Mrs. Dreyer's visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church followed by an 11 a.m. celebration of life service.
We love you, Mom. "Sail on Sylvia Girl"
