Sylvia Ann Spears

Sylvia Ann Spears, 82, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Baytown, on July 29, 1943, to the late Andrew Manuel and Jimmie Evelyn Dahlquist. Sylvia was a proud graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, class of 1961. She went on to make her career in the real estate industry, after receiving her real estate license from the state of Texas. Eventually she became the co-owner of Real Estate Network here in Baytown, until she retired.

In 1962, she married the love of her life, a young man by the name of James Franklin Spears, where they spent many years building a beautiful life together while raising their two sons.

Sylvia pursued many interests, some of which included going to the beach and gardening. She also found that her greatest joy came from the precious time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sylvia also found pleasure in the simple things in life like sitting out on the porch listening to the birds or buying small toys for her grandchildren to play with, while watching them enjoy their new special toys from Meme’s house. Her naturally warm personality lit up the room with her presence.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband James; and her brother-in-law John Strown. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her children Andrew Spears and wife Gail of Baytown, and Jay Spears and wife Andi of Clarksburg, West Virginia; her grandchildren William Spears and wife Karen of Tomball, Texas, Matthew Spears and wife Maria of Austin, Texas, Bailey, James and Landry Spears all of Clarksburg; her great-grandchildren Liam Spears of Tomball, James and Josie Spears of Austin; her sister Mary Strown of Baytown; and her brother Tony Dahlquist and wife Kris of Castwell, Texas; her many nieces and nephews; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A Graveside service will be held at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on June 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
