Thomas Richard Roeschen Jr., age 65, passed away at his residence on November 12, 2020 surrounded by family. Tom was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 9, 1955 to Thomas Sr. and Edith Roeschen. After completing high school, he graduated from Delaware Valley College. He moved to Baytown, Texas in 1977 to work for the Department of Agriculture; which transitioned to the Department of Homeland Security in 2001. Tom served a total of 41 years as an agricultural inspector examining various types of cargo being imported into the United States through the Houston Ship Channel. He was recognized multiple times throughout his career for seizing illegal cargo and harmful materials. Tom retired in June of 2018.

Tom was a dedicated family man who spent his free time gardening, camping and visiting with his loved ones. His family describes him as a loving husband and a compassionate father. Tom believed in the value of hard work and he passed that trait on to his children. He was constantly performing tasks such as roofing projects and other construction jobs. Tom accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was 11 years old. Later, in his adult life, he requested to be baptized a second time after rededicating his life to Christ. He was a member of Rolling Brook Fellowship.

Tom is survived by his wife Cheryl Bradley Roeschen, his brother Ken Roeschen, his children: Michael Roeschen, Sarah (Brian) Jones and Jacob (Stacey) Roeschen. Tom was blessed with nieces and nephews and his two grandchildren, Madison Jones and Kimber Roeschen.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr. in Baytown, TX. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, 18, November 2020, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Tom will be laid to rest at a private family burial near College Station, TX. His family has full confidence that his Lord has taken him home.

Tom was one of the finest human beings I have ever known. He lived his faith and loved his family. He was a very hard worker, willing to tackle many projects. He came up with creative solutions to problems and was happy to help others do so. His sense of humor, his honesty, and his fine character will be missed by anyone who was privileged to know him.
