Tommie Ray Sprayberry of Livingston, Texas passed away on March 13, 2019 in Kingwood, Texas. He was born May 5, 1938 in Corrigan, Texas to Tommie Jake Sprayberry and Clara Rachel Shirley Sprayberry who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 21 years, Gladys Josephine Rasbeary Sprayberry. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Kathryn Brown Sprayberry; his son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Jana Sprayberry of Boerne, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and Russell Stilley of Bryan, Texas; step-daughter, Janie Shirley of Spring, Texas; step-daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Ken Sandel of Friendswood, Texas; Grandchildren Ryan and Mandi Sprayberry of Boerne, Texas; Sarah Sprayberry of Boerne, Texas; Cameron and Jocelyn Shirley of Fort Worth, Texas; Taylor Shirley of Houston, Texas; and Amelia and Chloe Sandel of Friendswood, Texas; and great grandson, Whitley Sprayberry of Boerne, Texas. Tommie retired from Chevron Chemical Company (formerly Gulf Oil Company) after 29 years of service. In retirement he enjoyed traveling extensively, maintaining a beautiful yard, playing the stock market, deer hunting, watching all types of collegiate and professional sports, and spending time with his family who he loved dearly. The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas. A graveside service officiated by Pastor E. Richard Steel will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Cedarcrest Cemetery. Online memorial tributes may be shared with the family at

I worked for Tommie and shared an office with him for a couple of years after I started working at Cedar Bayou in 1980. I remember well his smile and laugh. He was a good man, deeply devoted to his loved ones.

Sorry to hear of Tommles passing. Worked with him for many years at Cedar Bayou and from downtown Houston. He was always a joy to be around. I remember most his great sense of humor 🤗 !! Never a dull moment with Tommie around !! A great person he was. My condolences to his family members. You were blessed to have him for so long.

I was so sorry to hear of Tommie's passing; but I know he is with our Lord now. My condolences to his wife, Mary and the children and grandchildren. We worked together at the Gulf/Chevron Cedar Bayou Plant for many years. Tommie was a good supervisor and a good friend to all of us, so his death brings us sorrow. Prayers for peace and comfort.
