Valentin G. Castillo came to the United States from Mexico as a migrant worker in his early twenties, becoming a permanent US resident in 1969. He worked in agriculture on Dr. Johnny Clark's farm in West Texas for many years, then moved on to the school district in Hereford, TX, before eventually settling in Baytown, working for Goose Creek ISD as a maintenance engineer, before finally retiring in 1988.
A loving husband and father, he loved to fish, watch sports with his boys, and visit his children and grandkids, often traveling great distances to see us all.
We wish to thank God for the years He gave us with him. His kindness, sincerity, warmth, humor, generosity of spirit, and genuine good nature will live on as his legacy to all of us.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pueblito and Tomasa Castillo and his son, Elieso Castillo.
He is survived by his wife, Constanza Castillo; daughters, Angie Rios and husband, Tony, Corina Lopez and Lucy Derrositt and husband, Bill; sons, Isidro Castillo and wife, Juanita, Gilbert Castillo and wife, Rose Mary and Danny Castillo, as well as 23 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
