Vertie Mae Young

Vertie Mae Young passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018, at age 85 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 23, 1933 to Marion and Milton Pace. She was a faithful member of Missouri Street Church of Christ. She married her loving husband, Billy Nelson Young, who preceded her in death. Vertie Mae was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Maxine and George Hatcher and by her brothers, Kenneth Pace and Jerry Don Pace. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Charlene Pace and Ginger Pace and her aunt Maggie Chappell. She is survived by her son Ricky Young and wife Kathy, daughter Pam Wilkinson, son Randy Young and wife Angela, daughter Patty Watson and husband Allen, and her beloved dog, Bubba. She is also survived by her grandchildren Paige and Jeff Hickey, Brandon and Alley Young, Greg Wilkinson and Micah Cloud, Rachel and Zack Green, and great-grandchildren Miles Wilkinson, Levi Fuller, Brock Young, Bryce Young, Emma Wilkinson, Evan Young and Nixxon Hickey. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Vertie Mae graduated from Robert E. Lee High School where she was an officer of the famous Brigadiers. She was employed at Hi-Port Industries as a bookkeeper for many years. Visitation will be on December 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Camp Ruby in Livingston, Texas at 2:30 p.m.
