Virgil Dan Davis

“Dan”, as he preferred to be called, was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and Sam Houston State University. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired in 19995 from the Texas Work Force Commission.

A member of the First United Methodist Church in Alvin, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Davis Larimore, a son, John Thomas Davis, and two grandsons, Jack Ryan Larimore and John William Larimore, all of League City. Also surviving are three brothers, Lowry H. Davis and James A. “Bitsy” Davis, both of Baytown, and Delbert L. Davis of Houston, as well as several other family members and friends.

The family acknowledges with appreciation and many thanks the care and attention provided Dan over the past two years by the staff at Swan Manor Assisted Living facility, the doctor and nurses attending him at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital and those at Faith Community Hospice during the past three weeks.

At Dan’s request, his remains are to be cremated. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
