Wayne V. Dodds

He was born January 12, 1934 in New Baden, Texas to his late parents Dee Monroe Dodds and Minnie Alma Day Dodds, had lived in the Baytown area for the last 40 years, was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and a retired Permit Agent from Dawson Geophysical and had also worked for GTE. Wayne's favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting.

Mr. Dodds was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hilda Turner; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Dodds of Baytown, whom he married on July 7, 1956; daughters, Kathy Purvis and Mary Ellen Jones and her husband Brady all of Baytown; sons, Steve Dodds and his wife Cindy of Highlands and Mike Dodds; brother, D. Weldon Dodds and his wife Arlene of Roby, Texas; grandchildren, Heidi, Melissa, Tiffany, Dee, Karen, Sara, Kaitlyn, Brandi, Brooke, Ashlee, Justin, Jarod, Jake, Jason and Zena; 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Lake Limestone Baptist Church in Robertson County with visitation to begin at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at the New Baden Cemetery in Robertson County.

Pallbearers will be Troy Jason Boodell, Jarod Dodds, Jake Dodds, Allen Laird, Clayton Rivers, David Turner and Justin Dodds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brady Jones and Trevor Jones.
