

William C. ""Bubba"" Kay, 57, of Onalaska, TX, formerly Baytown was born February 23, 1954 in Baytown and passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 in a Houston hospital after a courageous 17 year battle against cancer. He was a 1972 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School. He had been an elder at Lakewood Church of Christ in Baytown before becoming a member and elder at Onalaska Church of Christ. He loved fishing and people and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rolly Ray Kay and several aunts, uncles, and grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Heisele Kay of Onalaska; sons, Martin Ray Kay of El Paso and Jonathan William Kay of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; daughter, Stephanie Marie Kay of Houston; mother, Marie Kay of Crosby; sister, Debbie Kay Vincent and husband, David of Crosby; sisters-in-law, Helen Denton of Onalaska and Karen Underwood of Lake Tarpon, FL; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Church of Christ, 7701 Bayway Dr., Baytown, TX 77520 with Richard George, Daryl Newton, and Sonny Goode officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Waller, Harry Young, J. R. Young, Ryan Young, Norman Bush, Rick Collins, Ben Johnson, and Steven Fall. Huey Shoemaker will be an honorary pallbearer.
