Mr.Parnell has gone on to a better place as we have all been taught.I send my families prayers to uphold you now to help keep you strong.This is from all the Wakefield family that lived on Sheldon Road until 1967.We all remember Mr.Parnell well and I was a Rainbow at C.A.Fortner Lodge in the 60's.God bless you all.

My heart is heavy.  I have known ""The Parnells"" all my life. You have been such good neighbors and friends to the Forque family I hope you all feel the love and admiration I have for you.  You have made living on Avenue D a pleasure.  I never will forget Donna, Stuart, Howard and I going trick or treating.  What fun it was.  I guess I was the tag along!

I was so sad to read about the loss of Mr.Parnell. I worked with Jean at Humble Oil & Refining Co. a lifetime ago,and knew them as a very caring and close knit family. We have known and loved the Parnell Family for many years.  Our hearts are sad for the loss of such a wonderful husband, father, and friend.  The family will be in our prayers now and always.

It saddens usto know that you have lost your soulmate, husband, friend, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, uncle, neighbor, hunter, and much more.  The beauty shop days are of the most fondest memories along with our church days that we share as friends.  All the many reunions of old friends, past preachers, and many other blessings from above.  May God bless each and every one of you in the days to come, and may you find HIS peace and comfort in your lives when times are lonely and blue.  Remember, William is with his GOD now and Heaven is one person richer.  William will be missed dearly by all.  We will always cherish the many memories we have shared with you Syble and the children and the grandchildren.    May you always look back and smile ad laugh at the many good times you and William shared with family and friends together.  May GOD guide you through the days to come, give you comfort and his unyeilding peace within..and know we are always here for you no matter what.  Your friends in Christ.... we love you all...

My prayers are with you - how wonderful it will be when you are reunited with him in Heaven!  That is our hope as Christians.  I knew Mr. Bill when I was a young child  at Memorial Baptist Church.  He took our sunday school class somewhere and I remember that he made it fun and laughed at us being silly.  He was always very kind to me and I remember him that way. Again - I am very sorry for your loss - may God give you sweet memories in the days ahead.

It would be impossible to count the joys and memories of life growing up with Mr. Parnell and the whole family.  Wonderful friends and neighbors, you all help mold my life and I will ALWAYS remember Mr. Parnell as my friend, confidant, and mentor.  He was a great man with a warmth and spirit that few have in these times.  God BLESS you all during this time and remember, with your laughs and tears, how much you all meant to our family for all those great years growing up on Avenue D.  You are loved and remembered by the Hill family and especially by me, Stuart Hill.

It was nice seeing all of the family and friends to remember my grand daddy.  I wanted to thank everyone who came, and who sent flowers, there were so many beautiful flowers.  

My grandfather passed away on Wed. 17th.   My grandad was a beautiful man, and a savior in my life in so many ways.  He will forever be in my heart...

Things I learned from my grandaddy

1.  How to effectively blow things up with firecrackers
2.  How to shoot a gun... both rifle and pistol
3.  That all fires should be big... very  BIG  despite what the fire department says
4.  How to chew bubble gum and blow bubbles as big as my head
5.  He taught me how to fish
6.  He taught me that If I stood tall enough up on the picnic bench, and reached far enough with the fishing pole I could catch the moon... or get to the big rock   candy mountain, whichever came first.  
5.  He taught me how to be hardheaded, and at the same time how to have patience
6.  he taught me the meaning of being a good person through his own life
7.  he taught me what love is through his relationship with my grandmother.  

My grandaddy served a dual purpose in my life.  He was my grandfather on one hand, and because he raised me he played the role of father in my life.He raised me in a Christian home and gave me a real chance at life.  
My granddaddy was very good at getting me out of the very bad situatuions I am so good at getting myself in, and no matter what I did, he always loved me.  He was the one person I always knew i could count on, no matter what the situation.  He was the most beautiful person I have ever known.  Im gonna miss you grandaddy, I love you, and I know Ill see you in Heaven.

Remembering my Grandaddy

My grandaddy was such a beautiful man.  The wrinkles in his face ... the warmness in his hands ... the kindness in his eyes.

What I will remember most about my grandaddy...
1.  The big hugs hello
2.  The warm arm wrapped around my shoulder.
3.  The laughter when sharing his wonderful memories with me.
4.  Standing at the fire.
5.  Bumping heads (and we both had hard heads but his was always harder)
6.  Watching him walk in from retreiving the mail.
7.  Watching him blow his nose on his simple white handkerchiefs.
8.  Watching him shake his fist at me as we drove away.
9.  Holding on for dear life when he drove.
10.  Talking to him on the phone ... hearing him say ... ""And I love you too, Jenny.""  or ""You're my girl.""
11.  Fixing his hair for him while he was in the hospital.

I can't believe he's gone.

  I will never forget all the times that Uncle William thumped me in the head.  Then to hear about Donna, at least they are both together in heaven with mamaw and my dad.. love you billy wayne

well its been a while now and its taken a while for me to ccompletly grasp things.  i mean first my grandad then my mommy.  he served a big purpose in my life. he played yhe role of my father as well as my grandaddy. i remember when he used to help me with my homework as a little girl. we used to say when he got mad he was going to blow up and rain all over us. and the big bonfires we would build together. then how he stayed by my side when i was going to the hospital with my eye. and if i had a bad dream i would go make a pallet at the end of their bed and go back yo sleep. when i moved out he would call me and ask if i wanted to go get doanuts or to mcdonalds. oh how i miss him but i know hes in a better place now and smiling apon me i love you grandaddy u r always in my thoughts and heart.
