Adrienne Denise Blain Dale was born December 10, 1935 to F.L. and Rudell Swafford in LaFayette, Georgia. Denise and her sister Joanne were raised on a subsistence farm by maternal grandparents and loving mother. After graduating from high school, both girls married Christian men with their first names being Howard. It was after Denise and Howard’s marriage that both families moved to Texas as well as their mother.
Denise worked several jobs during her lifetime. She was a housewife, bookkeeper, worked at Beaumont ISD as well as for several different prominent Beaumont doctors. Denise enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and reading the Bible telling stories which related to current events. She loved watching birds and creatures in her backyard.
Denise and her husband Howard Payne Blain were blessed with five children. Denise and Howard were among the founding members of Pinecrest Church of Christ in Beaumont which eventually evolved into Dowlen Road Church of Christ. Denise has always maintained her membership and modeled her faith while here on earth. Denise demonstrated a passion for the sick as she sent cards of encouragement to them weekly. With the passing of Howard Blain, Denise eventually married William Dale who was a devoted Christian as well as a member of Dowlen Road Church of Christ. He too preceded her in death.
Denise will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Rebecca (Becky) Noel and her husband Paul (Pete); Brenda Baker and her husband Tommy; Elizabeth (Liz) Collins and her husband Donnie; her sons Charles (Podie) Blain; and Richard (Wink) Blain, her grandsons: Howard Paul Noel; Jacob Noel, Hunter Blain; Trevor Blain; Matthew Blain; Lukas Collins; Preston Blain, Bryan Baker and granddaughter Tara Smids and husband Lee. Denise was blessed with seven great grandchildren with Katie Smids providing her with unconditional love and support. She will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank the staff of Concho Hearts Hospice for their patience, compassion, guidance, and unwavering support in our mother's life ending journey. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
