Alfred "Lupee" Perez, age 66, of Kountze, Texas passed away at his home on Wednesday May 6, 2020. "Lupee" was born January 31, 1954 in Galveston, Texas to Mary "Peaches" Martinez and Edward "Lalo" Perez Sr.

Alfred grew up with his family in Beaumont, Texas. He was a South Park Greenie, where he played saxophone in the band. As a teenager he worked at Burger Chef. Alfred worked at Exxon Mobil in the Analyzer Group for 39 years. After retiring, Alfred started a new career with O'Reilly Auto Parts, where he became Territorial Sales Manager. Alfred loved to bowl and was an avid golfer as a member of the Exxon Mobil Golf Association. He also was involved in dog rescue for 5 years, where his love for animals led to the adoption of a sizable pack of dogs.

Alfred was a lover of music, especially 60's soul. He was also a Christian man with a love for gospel hymns. Alfred loved his family, and after his father passed he assumed the role of family patriarch. He loved to have a conversation and never met a stranger. Alfred loved to make you laugh and would go out of his way to make you smile, no matter how frustrated it made you. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Growing up next to the Perez family on Vermont Street was a blessing and a treat, especially when flour tortillas were warm off the skillet! Freddie was my boss, when I worked at Burger Chef; I don’t ever remember any unkind or rude words coming from him. He always had a smile. I’m praying for you, his family and friends. I know there is a huge hole in your hearts now. Praying you feel God’s peace as you remember the good times.

Alfred was one of the kindest people I've ever known. I've never known him to not be smiling. He loved telling jokes and making everyone laugh. He will surely be missed.

I met Lupee in 1999 at an ExxonMobil golf event. Luckily for me I was paired with him on day one. It took all of 30 seconds for him to crack the first joke and I knew instantly I was in the presence of a "true character". We hit it off immediately and that day began a friendship that has lasted over 20yrs now. Always smiling, always joking and constantly refilling your beer, or Bloody Mary, when the cart girl happened by. It was simply impossible to be unhappy when Lupee was near. He will always be my favorite golf partner. I'm relieved that my dear friend has gone on to a better place and won't suffer any longer but I will miss him terribly. I love you brother. My sincere condolences go out to Julia and the entire family. May God grant you all the peace and comfort only he can provide. I will keep you all in my prayers.
