

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Robert C. Rogan of Beaumont; two sons: R. Michael Rogan of Austin, Texas and Steven L. Rogan and his wife Joanne of Houston, Texas; one granddaughter, Jennifer Rogan Foulds, her husband William, and children Bailey and Lindsey, of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Kyle Rogan, his wife Therese, and children Tyler, Caiden, and Alexis of Mobile, Alabama; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Ann was born in Cadiz, Ohio in 1911; was a longtime member of the Methodist Church; graduated from Brooklyn High School, Brooklyn, Iowa; received a B.A. degree in education from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa; and served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. She taught in the public schools of Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas, often in one-room schools as the only teacher for grades 1 through 8. Ann also did volunteer work in the care and training of handicapped children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Bertha Adams Ladd, an infant son James Rogan, five sisters, three brothers, one niece, and two nephews.
The family wishes to give special thanks to caregivers Janice Espree and Alma and to the staff and volunteers of the Harbor Hospice, especially nurse Rose Halligan, for their care and kindness in Ann’s final years.
A graveside service will be held at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas on Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 11:00 am.
