Betty Coussou Haynes, 80, a thirty-eight year resident of Lumberton passed away on Sunday September 30, 2018 in Beaumont. Betty was born in Beaumont, Texas on June 4, 1938 to her parents John Herbert Coussou and Katie Anthony Coussou who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby O’Neal Haynes, and two brothers, Collis Simmons and Casey Simmons.
She is survived by her four sons: Johnny Haynes of Lumberton, James Haynes of Mauriceville, Keith Haynes of Lumberton, and Jeffery Haynes of Lumberton; her daughter Connie Stinson and husband Todd of Vidor; her brother Cecil Simmons of Vidor and her four sisters: Bobbie Sue Johnson of Lumberton, Carol Williams and husband Charles of Lumberton, Sandra Rao of Lumberton, and Alice Rachford of Vidor; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother, and priceless sister as well as a nurturing grandmother and faithful friend. She had a way of making every child feel they were her favorite and that they could be themselves. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally and was always proud of them. She was a strong example for her family and was their guiding light. Her family was the most important thing in her life and her selfless and caring heart was a blessing to them all.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 4, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Betty’s life at 2:00 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
