Carolyn Carre, age 75, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020. Carolyn was born August 18, 1944.
Carolyn lived in Beaumont with her parents on the Neches River where her father was a longshoreman. She lived on the Neches River where her and her siblings and cousins were called "River Rats". Carolyn was known to be artistic and could replicate any piece of art she put her eyes on. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and made many beautiful items. She valued her nieces and nephews and took much time into teaching them games in which she did not let them win unless they earned it.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Batiste and Agnes Carre; brother, Archie Carre; sister, Shirley Steward; brother, James Luther Carre; and nephew Steve Steward.
Carolyn is survived by sister-in-law Patricia Carre and sister Edna Lawson; nephew Patrick Carre (Amy), niece LaDona Cox (Steve), great nephew Sean Carre (Teresa), great niece Alissa Carre, great niece Carre Cox, niece Gina Garrison (John), niece Julie Rucker (Reginald), niece Aimee Lawson, nephew Gerald Steward (Karen) and nephew Kent Steward (Velma) and many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Carolyn will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with a gathering of friends and family starting at 9:00 AM, 4955 Pine, Beaumont, Texas 77703. Following the celebration of life will be a burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
