Catherine Lee Barnhart

Catherine L. “Jimmy” Barnhart, age 90 of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Beaumont. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Catherine was born on May 22, 1924 in Madison, West Virginia to the late Robert C. Atkins and Catherine Mae Reed Atkins. She had been a resident of Beaumont since 1960. Catherine was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Beaumont Progressive Study Group and the Women’s International Bowling Association. She enjoyed quilting and playing bridge. Jimmy loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a great example of God’s love.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years Gerald L. Barnhart. Five children; Barbara Korn, Beverly Bass, Roger Barnhart, Greg Barnhart & wife Sandi and Cindy Corkran. Ten grandchildren; Gary Korn, January Duck, Kimberly McCandles, Dax Barnhart, Chad Barnhart, Ashton Roberts, Jason Barnhart, Austin Barnhart, Jessica Barnhart and Jennifer Kelly. Eight great grandchildren; Ashley Kelly, Tyler Kelly, Keegan Kelly, Isabella Duck, Aaron Barnhart, Hannah Barnhart, Booker Bowman and Kainen Duck. Three great grandchildren; Aria Lopez, Emma Murphy and Amelia Murphy.
