Cenci was born May 11, 1935 in Würzburg, Germany to Ernst and Anna Strütt. Cenci immigrated to the United States and became a Naturalized Citizen in May of 1963, of this she was extremely proud. While working in Beaumont, she met her future husband Paul, and they were married on New Year’s Eve, 1968, a marriage which lasted until her death. She and Paul enjoyed traveling the country and took several trips back to her birth country of Germany, where they met with her sisters and brother. Cenci always enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherwoman. If only you could have heard her tell of their many trips out on Toledo Bend Lake. They lived in Beaumont, but maintained a retreat in Toledo Beach subdivision in Hemphill. In 2006, after Hurricane Rita, they decided they had enough of the “big city life” and had a home built at their Toledo Beach retreat, where they relaxed and enjoyed her final days in retirement. Her hearty laugh, ready smile, and welcome to all, will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Censi is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Strütt; father, Ernst Strütt; sisters, Molly Anna Nichols, Monika Glüglein and a brother, Rudolph “Rudy” Strütt.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Canizales, Jr.; sons, Eddie LeBlanc and wife Julie, Jimmy LeBlanc and wife Lauren; step-daughter, Debbie Canizales Brenner; sister, Betty Saüer; grandchildren, Dillon LeBlanc, Nicholas LeBlanc, Eric LeBlanc, Jessie LeBlanc, Kristina LeBlanc Lillie, Cassie LeBlanc, Sarah LeBlanc, Dax Smolensky, Dane Smolensky; 7 great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.
