

Diana L. McGuirt, age 79, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, after a valiant 3-1/2-years battling against cancer. She went to be with our Heavenly Father. Diana was born in Galveston, Texas on January 13, 1945, to Pablo and Juanita Flores. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.
For those who did not know, Diana spent much of her life in service for others. She was a longtime volunteer at the First Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is currently a member of Wesley Methodist Church of Beaumont, Tx. She loved music, she especially liked playing the guitar and singing. Her favorite music was listening to Elvis Presley. She worked for Texas Commerce Bank, owned McGuirt Drafting, and volunteered for numerous charities in Beaumont. She helped at the Womens' and Abused Shelter, was a Court Advocate for Children, volunteered at Some Other Place, delivered and prepared meals at Meals-On-Wheels, taught individuals' how to speak and read Spanish to English, she helped teach sign language and walked/lead the blind. Diana had many hobbies. She made many handmade rosaries and sent them to soldiers & missionaries all over the world. She loved to knit and make baby blankets, hats, scarfs, and beanies for hospitals and the homeless members in the surrounding community. During cancer, she made paracord bracelets for many Cancer patients. Diana also had a method for taking used plastic shopping bags and weaved them into mats for the homeless to use under their bedding.
Please keep Diana's husband Curtis and her large family in your thoughts and prayers. Survivors include her loving husband, Curtis G. McGuirt of Beaumont; sons, Terry Wayne McGuirt and his wife Marie of McKinney, Tx, Steven Michael McGuirt and his wife Tanya of League City, Tx; daughter, Tammy Michelle Decker and her husband Monty of Willis, Tx; extended son, Jim Martin and his wife Cindy of Dallas, Tx; brother, Johnny Flores of Texas City; sisters Delores "Lolis" Flores of Vidor, Mary Elizabeth Capps of Port Neches; grandchildren, Sky Aguilar, Stormy Kulhaneks, Matthew Hendrick, Seth McGuirt, Leena McGuirt, Reece Everett, and Zane Everett; great grandchildren, Kade, Klay, Karter, Kole, Emma, Anabelle, John; and numerous loving family and friends.
A celebration of life for Diana will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703 with Pastor Rick Ivey officiating.
