Dolores lived an extraordinary life that was filled with travel (both here and abroad), adventure, laughter, love, playing all types of games, dancing, and spending as much time as possible with her very large family. She had many passions, hobbies and skills. She was an excellent artist and loved painting and depicting her memories from her numerous travels. Crocheting, another favorite hobby, provided the opportunity for her to make caps and shawls for cancer patients, which was one of the many ways she enjoyed serving others. She was often the first to volunteer for anything that involved helping others. Holidays were very important to her, as it allowed her to spend quality time with her children and grandchildren doing things they loved, such as dying Easter eggs, opening Christmas gifts, and going to the annual ‘Christmas on the Square’ party in Coldspring, TX. She was a wonderful hostess for these and many other special occasions.
Dolores was deeply rooted in her faith in God, loved going to church, and faithfully practiced what was passed on to her by her parents. During her long and active life, Dolores worked at the Chancery for the Beaumont Catholic Diocese, United Airlines, Kelly High School, Electronic Data Systems, and the Lamar University Newman Catholic Student Center. It was at the Newman Center where she was a proud member of the Happening Team and formed many close and lifelong relationships.
