Donald Richard Smith, 79, of Beaumont, passed away on July 11, 2014 in Beaumont. Don was born December 5, 1934 in Kilgore, Texas to Ovide “Bill” Smith and Dorothy Ruth Lingo Smith. He was a US Army Veteran, had 40 years of service at Texaco Refinery in Port Arthur, 1953 Graduate of Anahuac High School, and attended the University of Texas and Lamar University. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linnie Walker Smith; Children, Donald “Mann” Smith Jr. of Rock Port, TX, Dee Ann Whittington of Beaumont, TX, David Smith of Hardin, TX, Ella Marie Chessher of Beaumont, TX, J. Jay Smith of Paris, TX, James T. Smith of Fannett, TX; Brothers & Sister, Jimmie Smith of The Highlands, TX, George Smith of Estes Park, CO, Kenneth Smith of Silsbee, TX, Billie Ruth George of Deer Park, TX; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, July 14, 2014 at Woodland Baptist Church, 1860 W Lucas, Beaumont, TX.
