Donna Sue Dickey Goza is not only with her heavenly father, but is also in the arms of her own father now. She passed from this earth on July 31, 2021. She was born to Til and Hazel Dickey on September 10, 1954.
Donna was born in Port Neches, TX and spent much of her childhood there before moving with her family up to their farm in Fred, TX. She was thrilled because she loved the country life. She graduated from Warren High School in 1973. After graduating she gave birth to the two lights in her life, her boys Robby and Carl. She was the social center of the community in Fred for 18 years working as the clerk/community therapist/cheerleader/feed bag thrower at Fred Grocery right in the center of town. She also worked for many years in the service industry and in many care-taking roles making sure individuals in need had a warm heart and a kind ear right there with them. She fell in love with Ben Goza and they married in 1994. Her titles are too numerous to mention in full because she meant everything to everyone. She was Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Nana, Nanie, Nonna Donna, Late Night Movie Partner and Houston Shuttle Driver. She quickly became Second Mom and Aunt to pretty much any young’un within earshot wherever she may be in the world.
Donna was a spirit like no other and carried the brightest light. She needed only a miniscule amount of time in your presence to have you remembering her for the rest of your life. It is hard to think that this old world didn’t tilt a little as she left it. If you took Martha Stewart, Delta Burke, Blanche Devereaux and Mother Teresa and combined them all into one person, you’re starting to get a little warm. She showered 150% of that light on her two boys. She lived and breathed for her two precious men and still had a truck load of endless energy for everyone else she could possibly talk to. She loved her family beyond measure and considered her dear friends no different than family. Donna loved people plain and simple and when you were loved by Donna you were never left to question that loyalty. Donna was going to make sure you never forget that she loved you in her every word and deed 24/7. And she loved her Daddy. He would spend weekends away from the family in Port Neches to go work on the old farm in Fred. But never without Donna. She wanted to be with her Daddy. And so, she is.
Donna is preceded in Death by her parents Til and Hazel, her husband Ben, her brother-in-law Kenneth, her nephew Lynn.
Donna is survived by Robby and partner Huw; Carl and wife Devon; Kelley and husband Junior; Kristi and husband Bo; Sisters Rhonda and husband Melvin and Cheryl; Nephews Richard and wife Sam and their children, Aaron and Jessica and their children; Niece Della and husband Thomas and their children;

“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:30-31 KJV
