Doris Melancon

Doris Melancon, 96, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 15, 2026; at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A native of Baltimore, MD., she has lived in Beaumont since 1950, and was a retired administrator/secretary after many faithful years with Fernon's Office Outfitter's, Plumber's Local, and Schlessinger Nursing Home in Beaumont.

A Celebration of Doris's Life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, Charles Moore; mother, Ann Bottoms Moore; her loving husband, Laurent "Axie" Melancon; her daughter, Gay Lynn Kurth, brother, Ralph Lamar Moore; sister, Norma Moore.

She is survived by her son, Rickey Melancon and his wife Leila of Lumberton, son, Kent Melancon of Dallas, grandchildren Tanner Melancon and his wife Jill of Houston, Jacob Melancon and his wife Paula of Houston, Collin Kurth and his wife Stacey of Dallas, and her granddaughter, Koene Tangredi of San Marcos.

Doris is also survived by her great grandchildren Molly Melancon, Charlie Melancon, Michael Melancon, Natalie Kurth, Micah Kurth, Ryanne Kurth, Averie Kurth, Trystyn Castillo, and Dyllyn Castillo, as well as three great great grandchildren.
