

Ed was born on February 9, 1925 in Beaumont to Marvin and Lela DuBose. He graduated from Beaumont High School, attended North Texas Agricultural College Arlington, and then began his military career in Tyler’s Camp Fannin in 1943. He served in the United States Army field artillery units from 1943 to 1945 being stationed at various bases in France, Belgium, and Germany.
He married Patricia Lee on August 28, 1948 in Beaumont. He graduated with the Class of ‘49’ from Texas A & M University with a Bachelor’s degree. Ed was in the petrochemical contracting and construction business and had been employed by Tellepsan, Catalytic Construction and Fluor Corporation. The nature of his work afforded him and his family the opportunity to live in several states, including Louisiana, Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts and such far away places as Holland, Belgium, Italy and Canada.
In 1990, Ed and Pat retired to Tyler, Texas where they lived for 18 years, until moving to Dallas in 2008. Ed was a master carpenter, avid gardener and stamp collector.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt Mary Francis Kennedy and Uncle Paul DuBose.
His survivors include his wife of 62 years, Pat and 2 daughters, Carol DuBose of Dallas and Nancy Fay and husband Russell of Columbia City, IN.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with a Graveside Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Ed was a dedicated family man whose love for his family was reassuring and constant. He had the “sweetest” of hearts and loved his friends dearly. He was always a gentleman, displaying a kind and courteous manner to all persons he encountered. He will be greatly missed
