Eddie, a native of Port Hueneme, California was born August 22, 1956 to Cyril and Elsie Mallett.
He grew up in Van Etten, New York and graduated from Spencer – Van Etten High School in 1974. Eddie moved to Texas in 1976. He met his wife Carolyn in 1981 and they married in 1983. Together they raised three daughters; Stephanie, Lori and Lorelei.

Eddie was a quiet, compassionate man with a heart the size of Texas. He touched and made a difference in many lives. He was slow to anger and quick to smile. He had many interests and talents in life. He wrote beautiful poetry and could repair any type of machinery. He was an avid reader and was very vocal about his political opinions. It was no secret to anyone who knew him that he was an avid car enthusiast, owning over 100 cars during his life and buying his first one before he was old enough to drive. He enjoyed browsing the antique malls, touring Victorian historical homes and traveling with Carolyn. Over the years they often traveled with their eldest granddaughter Breana. One of Eddie’s greatest pleasures in life was taking Breana to her horse shows. Her Papoo was her biggest fan and encouraged her love of the sport.
