Emily Butler was born in Opelousas, Louisiana to Arthur Thomas and Mary young. Emily was the youngest girl of 14 brothers and sisters.
Emily loved to travel and spend time with friends at the RV Park. Her favorite activity was dancing and no one young or old could outlast her on the dance floor. She was outspoken and the life of the party. There was never a dull moment when visiting Emily. She took great joy in helping to raise her nieces, nephews, and neighbor’s children. She will be greatly missed.
Emily is survived by her many nieces and nephews; Deborah, Sylvia, Tasha, Keisha, Bambi, Scyarlette, Kenya, Keo, John, Dwight, and Omari.
Emily is preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers and sisters, and her husband James.
A committal service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in front of the Veteran Memorial Wall on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 1:00PM.
